Description

The purpose of this add-on is to speed up the routine process of adding media files. Many programs (dictionaries, media players, browsers, etc.) allow you to save media content, and some of them do it automatically during playback. Media grabbers also produce automatic saving of streams. That is, the task boils down to quickly find a recorded file within a specified time interval and transfer it to Anki. Time threshold is introduced to prevent the accidental insertion of old files. This and is the purpose of the add-on. The file transfer procedure is further enhanced by the ability to automatically rename, which can facilitate manual work with files in the collection. A new name can be obtained as a result of formatting either the selected text fragment in one of the fields, or the contents of specially defined fields. User himself specifies a mode of capture file - moving or copying. Add-on operation scheme: 1. First of all, the user saves the media file in a specific directory. The path and file type must match one of the templates specified in the 'media file patterns' parameter. 2. The user then presses the 'M' button in the editor window or 'Ctrl+/'. This action must be performed before the time specified in the 'time threshold' parameter passes, otherwise the file will not be found. 3. If in one of the fields there is a selected text, then the add-on will format it and take it (if possible) as a new name for the media file. 4. If there is no selected text, but the current 'note type' contains a non-empty field from the 'name fields' parameter, then the formatted contents of this field will become the new name (if possible). 5. If there is no selected text or special fields, the file will be saved with its original name. The name will be formatted if the 'for original' option is enabled. 6. If the current 'note type' contains a field from the 'target fields' parameter, then a link to the media file will be placed in this field. 7. If there are no special fields, the link will be placed in the current field. If there are special fields, but the link still needs to be placed in the current field, then the 'M' button should be pressed while holding the 'Shift' key. Useful features: 1. The "set editor window ontop" option sets the 'top of other windows' mode for any window with the editor, which is often convenient when you have to copy data from other windows. 2. The "search in collection" option automatically includes the 'collection.media' directory in the search path for any valid media files. This allows you to quickly reformat just-added media files without going to there. Acknowledgements: Dariusz Laska Tested Version: Anki 2.1.6 Author Contact: itraveller@mail.ru
