Here's what you actually get when you click a term. Real examples from the addon: 💔 Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack) Definition Necrosis of heart muscle due to prolonged ischemia from acute loss of coronary blood flow (usually plaque rupture with thrombosis). Subdivided into STEMI or NSTEMI based on ECG. Why It Matters MI is a leading cause of death worldwide. Rapid intervention is critical - untreated large MIs lead to heart failure, shock, arrhythmias, or sudden cardiac arrest. Time is muscle. Tricks & Mnemonics MONA : Morphine, Oxygen, Nitrates, Aspirin (oxygen only if hypoxemic) Door-to-balloon : <90 minutes for STEMI Killip classification : I = no HF, II = rales/S3, III = pulmonary edema, IV = cardiogenic shock Practice Case A 59-year-old man with hypertension presents with 30 minutes of crushing chest pain and diaphoresis. ECG shows ST elevations in V2-V4. BP 100/60, HR 110, cool extremities. Show Answer STEMI (acute anterior wall MI) Classic anterior STEMI from LAD occlusion. Hypotension + cool extremities = potential cardiogenic shock. Needs emergent PCI. 🦋 Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) Definition Chronic multi-organ autoimmune disease where nuclear autoantibodies form immune complexes that damage multiple organs. Classic: "butterfly" malar rash. The Classic Presentation Young woman with fatigue, fever, joint pains, and a photosensitive malar rash (spares nasolabial folds). May have oral ulcers, alopecia, Raynaud's. But the joke exists because SLE can mimic almost anything - it's the great imitator.
