Capture screenshots and paste copied text or images directly into your chosen Anki note field with a single key. Mac only for now. X — CAPTURE TO YOUR NOTE Press X while reviewing, drag around the content you want, and release. The screenshot is automatically appended to your selected field. Tip: useful for diagrams, hover definitions, hints, and reference panels displayed inside Anki. C — PASTE TO YOUR NOTE Copy text or an image from a browser, document, or another app. Return to your Anki review card and press C to append it directly to your selected field. Copied text becomes one continuous paragraph: all line and paragraph breaks are replaced with spaces, and website formatting is removed. Images are saved in Anki's media collection. If the clipboard contains both an image and text, the image takes priority. If neither is available, C starts a screenshot instead. Arbitrary files, audio, and video are not supported clipboard formats. CHOOSE YOUR FIELD AND SHORTCUTS The default field is Lecture Notes for AnKing. Change the field and either shortcut in Tools → Capture & Paste to Note Settings. Existing field content is preserved. Each insertion supports Anki's normal Undo and Redo. Escape cancels a screenshot. MAC PERMISSIONS Allow Anki to capture your screen when macOS asks. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, enable Anki, and restart it if requested. On older macOS versions, this setting is called Screen Recording. The add-on does not record audio or continuously monitor the clipboard. COMPATIBILITY Anki Desktop on macOS only. Designed for Anki 25.09 and newer; automated checks used Anki 26.09.3. Shortcuts work while reviewing, outside text-entry fields. If another add-on or card template uses C or X, choose different letters in settings. No live screenshot or interactive installation test has been performed. LICENSE MIT License; included with the download. The license applies to the add-on, not to content captured from other sources.
