The goal of this add-on is to help users stay focused while studying with Anki, while also adding motivation through visual metrics such as level, cards studied, study time, retention, and streak. Main Features 1. Pomodoro Timer Integrated into Anki Integrates a Pomodoro timer directly into the Anki interface. Supports focus sessions and break sessions. Customizable Pomodoro and Break durations. Auto-switch to break time after completing a Pomodoro session. Auto-switch back to Pomodoro after a break finishes (optional). When a session ends, the popup lets you adjust the next session's minutes on the fly before starting it. Click the timer to edit both Pomodoro and Break minutes from a single dialog. 2. Multiple Display Layouts PomoVN supports multiple layouts to match different study habits. Under Toolbar A horizontal status bar placed directly under Anki's toolbar, suitable for users who want a compact interface while still seeing their study progress. Sidebar Panel A vertical control panel on the side of the screen, suitable for users who want to monitor more metrics while studying. The Sidebar can be placed on the Left or Right , and you can drag its edge to resize the width to your preference (220–400px). Corner Badge A floating widget in the corner of the screen. It can be dragged and moved freely. The timer is now an animated SVG ring with a smooth sweep animation, and clicking it opens the Edit Time dialog directly. 3. Dark Mode PomoVN supports three theme modes: Follow System — automatically switches to dark or light based on your OS theme. Light — always use the light palette. Dark — always use the dark palette, with carefully tuned colors so SVG icons stay clearly visible. 4. Gamification and Learning Metrics PomoVN makes studying with Anki feel more like a process of accumulating progress. The add-on tracks several main groups of metrics: XP and Level — accumulated XP and your current level. Cards Studied — number of cards reviewed during the Anki day. Study Time — total focused time, derived from Anki review timings. Retention — memory retention based on review answers. Streak — consecutive study days. XP is grade-neutral : it is calculated from unique cards reviewed in the Anki day , not from which answer button you press. This means there's no incentive to game the system by always pressing Easy or to feel punished by pressing Again. 5. Focus Audio Widget PomoVN includes an audio widget to help create a focused study environment. Audio features include: Three built-in rain loops: Short Rain, Slow Rain, and Rain on Skylight. Local volume control independent of system volume. Custom YouTube URL support: paste any YouTube link and play it as background music. Shuffle, previous, next, and loop controls for built-in tracks. 6. Settings, Backup, and Reset The Settings dialog uses a polished pill-switcher style for layout, sidebar position, and theme selection. PomoVN saves study data so you can track long-term progress. Saved data includes: Pomodoro / Break session history. Number of cards studied per session. XP earned. Decks studied. Daily statistics. Streak and retention data. You can export and import all PomoVN data as a .json backup, or reset only study data while keeping your settings. 7. Changelog Popup When you install or update PomoVN, a popup shows what's new in your selected language (English or Vietnamese). You can dismiss it permanently by checking "Don't show this again" . 8. Vietnamese and English UI The add-on is fully bilingual. Switch language anytime from Settings; tooltips, dialogs, and the changelog popup all follow your selection. Who Is This Add-on For? Your existing data (XP, history, settings) is never overwritten when you update the add-on.
