π Skip cards you don't want to review right now. They'll come back at the end of your session!
Skip Cards is a simple Anki add-on that lets you defer cards during a review session. When you skip a card, it's temporarily set aside and automatically brought back after all your other cards have been reviewed β so nothing gets lost and your scheduling is unaffected. π―

Tools β Add-ons β Open Add-ons Folder).The add-on uses Anki's built-in bury_cards and unbury_cards scheduler methods to temporarily hide skipped cards during the session. Card IDs are tracked in memory and unburied once the queue is empty β no changes are made to Anki's spaced repetition algorithm. π§
def skip_card() -> None:
current_card = mw.reviewer.card
if current_card is not None:
mw.col.sched.bury_cards([current_card.id])
skipped_cards_id.append(current_card.id)
mw.reset()
def show_skipped_cards() -> None:
if skipped_cards_id:
mw.col.sched.unbury_cards(skipped_cards_id)
skipped_cards_id.clear()

β οΈ Important: You cannot run add-ons directly from within PyCharm. Add-ons must be run from inside Anki itself.
1. Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/zHenryTM/Skip_Cards.git
2. Open the project in PyCharm and create a new project pointing to the cloned folder.
3. Install Anki's dependencies for type hints and code completion. Open the Python Console in PyCharm (bottom left) and run:
import subprocess
subprocess.check_call(["pip3", "install", "--upgrade", "pip"])
subprocess.check_call(["pip3", "install", "mypy", "aqt[qt6]"])
Wait for the installation to complete. You should now have full code completion for Anki's API. β
4. Link the add-on to Anki for testing. Copy the project folder into your Anki add-ons directory:
Tools β Add-ons β Open Add-ons Folder
5. Restart Anki after any changes to see them in effect. π
