Description

Have you ever finished a long review session only to realize you forgot to tag dozens of important cards? TagOnTheGo was built to solve exactly that problem, ensuring your collection stays consistently organized. This add-on acts as a smart assistant that intervenes in your review flow at just the right moment. Instead of interrupting you for every card, a dialog box appears, allowing you to add or edit relevant tags in the heat of the momentβ€”but only under conditions you define. Features Smart & Configurable Triggers: Choose exactly when the tagging window should appear. Set it to pop up for cards that have no tags and/or for new cards the first time they are reviewed. Add and Edit with Ease: The dialog isn't just for adding new tags. It pre-selects a card's existing tags, allowing you to quickly and intuitively review, remove, or change them. Quick Search: Have a collection with hundreds of tags? Use the built-in search bar to instantly find the one you need. Collapsible Lists: Organize your tag list by creating custom collapsible categories (like "Hidden", "Anatomy", "Pharmacology", etc.) to keep the interface clean and focused by hiding less-used tags. Robust Interface: With integrated scroll bars, the window seamlessly handles a large number of tags and long names without layout breaks or clipped text. How to Use Install the add-on and restart Anki. During a review session, when you answer a card that matches your configured criteria (e.g., an untagged card, new cards), the TagOnTheGo window will appear. Check the existing tags you want to keep, uncheck those you want to remove, select others, or create new ones. Then, click "OK". The card will be updated with your selection, and your review will continue as normal. Configuration To customize the add-on's behavior and your tag lists: In Anki, go to Tools > Add-ons . Select TagOnTheGo from the list. Click the "Config" button on the right. In the configuration window, check the boxes to define when the dialog window should appear. Below, add or remove collapsible lists to organize your tags. To move a tag into one of these lists, use the "↓" button next to it in the main dialog window. I hope this tool helps you keep your Anki collection as organized as it keeps mine!
