Description

⭐ Perfect for AnKing, Sketchy, Pathoma, and Boards & Beyond tag hierarchies. Create hierarchical filtered decks from Anki tags in just one click. Right-click any parent tag to automatically generate hierarchical filtered decks for every descendant tag , displayed as a clean, collapsible folder structure directly in the main deck browser. NEW: Manage filtered decks without opening them. Hover over any filtered deck to quickly rebuild (πŸ”„) , rebuild New + Learn only (🌱) , rebuild High Yield only (⭐) , empty (πŸ—‘οΈ) , or pin to your Working Set (πŸ“Œ) . Button behavior is configurable, so users can choose what each rebuild icon does. Supports bulk rebuilding, checkbox selection, Working Sets, rebuilding entire branches, progress updates, cancelable long actions, expand/collapse all folders, faster large-hierarchy builds, and optimized Leftover detection. This solves a common limitation of filtered decks, where studying by tags normally results in one large flat list instead of an organized hierarchy. Example: #SketchyMicro └── 01_Bacteria └── 01_Gram (+)_Cocci β”œβ”€β”€ Staph aureus (filtered deck) β”œβ”€β”€ Strep pyogenes (filtered deck) └── Strep pneumoniae (filtered deck) Features: Works from any level of a tag hierarchy. Automatically creates one filtered deck per leaf tag . Creates a clean, collapsible hierarchy directly in the main deck browser. Generate hundreds of filtered decks with a single click . Creates the hierarchy first, then asks whether you want to build the newly created decks now or leave them empty . If there are many decks, building them may take a few minutes. Does not automatically unsuspend cards by default , so intentionally suspended cards stay suspended. Preserves card scheduling, intervals, learning steps, and review history . Cards always remain in their original decks . Includes a progress bar during large builds, rebuilds, and empty actions so Anki does not look frozen. Long actions can be canceled safely between steps/decks. Optimized for large tag trees like Boards & Beyond . Optimized Leftover detection using a faster branch scan instead of repeated slow checks. Quick hover actions: πŸ”„ Rebuild 🌱 Rebuild New + Learn Only ⭐ Rebuild High Yield Only πŸ—‘οΈ Empty πŸ“Œ Pin / Working Set Hover actions work on both individual filtered decks and entire branches . Working Set support lets you save the filtered decks you are actively studying and rebuild or empty them together later. Pinned Working Set decks are marked with a πŸ“Œ on the main deck page. Bulk rebuild and management directly from the deck browser. Expand All Folders and Collapse All Folders options are available from the Filtered Decks menu. Button behavior can be customized from the Filtered Decks menu. Rebuild button options include All Tagged Cards , Due + New + Learn , Due Reviews Only , New + Learn Only , High Yield Only , and High Yield + Due/New/Learn . Due + New + Learn rebuilds only cards that are currently studyable, helping avoid pulling back cards you just reviewed. All Tagged Cards keeps the original behavior and pulls all cards matching the filtered deck's tag search. High Yield rebuild uses configurable tag restrictions through restrictToTags . Default High Yield tags are set up for AnKing, including High Yield, Relatively High Yield, and High Yield temporary tags. User-edited config values, including restrictToTags , button-action preferences, and Working Set preferences, are preserved across updates. Retired Lessons , misc_skin , and unorganized act as dedicated leftover buckets. If cards remain after normal decks and dedicated leftover buckets are created, an automatic Leftover filtered deck is created. Leftover decks are only created when they actually contain cards. Filtered Deck Manager: Rebuild All: Rebuild every generated filtered deck. Rebuild All submenu: Choose a rebuild mode such as All Tagged Cards, Due + New + Learn, Due Reviews Only, New + Learn Only, High Yield Only, or High Yield + Due/New/Learn. Empty All: Empty every generated filtered deck without deleting cards. Show Checkboxes: Enable bulk selection mode. Rebuild Selected: Rebuild only selected filtered decks. Rebuild Selected submenu: Choose the rebuild mode for selected decks. Select All and Clear for quick selection. Expand All Folders: Expand the deck browser hierarchy. Collapse All Folders: Collapse the deck browser hierarchy. Button Actions: Customize what the πŸ”„, 🌱, ⭐, and πŸ“Œ hover buttons do. Working Set: Manage pinned/active filtered decks. Hover over any filtered deck to quickly rebuild (πŸ”„) , rebuild New + Learn only (🌱) , rebuild High Yield only (⭐) , empty (πŸ—‘οΈ) , or pin to the Working Set (πŸ“Œ) . Hover actions also work on parent filtered decks , rebuilding, emptying, or pinning every filtered deck in that branch. Working Set: Use the πŸ“Œ hover button to add or remove filtered decks from your Working Set. The Working Set is useful for keeping track of the filtered decks you are actively studying. Rebuild Working Set: Rebuild only the decks saved in your Working Set. Empty Working Set: Empty only the decks saved in your Working Set. Clear Working Set: Remove all saved Working Set pins. Add Selected to Working Set: Add checked decks to your Working Set. Remove Selected from Working Set: Remove checked decks from your Working Set. Rebuild Working Set includes the same rebuild-mode submenu options as Rebuild All and Rebuild Selected. The πŸ“Œ quick action is configurable and defaults to Rebuild Working Set . Configurable Button Actions: The πŸ”„, 🌱, ⭐, and πŸ“Œ buttons can be customized from the Filtered Decks menu. Available rebuild modes include: All Tagged Cards: Pulls all cards matching the filtered deck's tag search. Due + New + Learn: Pulls due review cards, new cards, and learning cards. Due Reviews Only: Pulls only due or overdue review cards. New + Learn Only: Pulls only new and learning cards. High Yield Only: Pulls cards matching the configured High Yield tags. High Yield + Due/New/Learn: Pulls only High Yield cards that are currently due, new, or learning. The πŸ—‘οΈ button remains dedicated to Empty for safety and clarity. Changing button behavior does not change card scheduling or rescheduling settings. Hierarchy Creation: When creating decks from a tag, the add-on first creates the deck hierarchy . After creation, you can choose whether to build the newly created decks immediately or leave them empty . If you leave decks empty, you can manually unsuspend cards later and then use Rebuild to populate them. This makes large deck creation faster and avoids changing suspension status unexpectedly. High Yield Rebuild: Click the ⭐ hover button to rebuild using only High Yield cards, unless you customize the ⭐ button behavior. Uses the configurable restrictToTags setting. Includes default AnKing High Yield, Relatively High Yield, and High Yield temporary tags. Includes both the main AnKing #Low/HighYield tags and the alternate #Other::^HighYield tags. If users manually edit restrictToTags , their changes are preserved across future updates. New + Learn Rebuild: Click the 🌱 hover button to rebuild using only New and Learning cards, unless you customize the 🌱 button behavior. Due and Review cards are excluded. Works for individual decks, parent branches, selected checkbox rebuilds, and Working Set rebuilds. Leftover Bucket Behavior: Retired Lessons , misc_skin , and unorganized are created after the main topic decks. Leftover is created last as the final catch-all. Leftover only appears if there are actually leftover cards. Cards are assigned to normal topic decks first, then dedicated leftover buckets, then Leftover if needed. Leftover detection is branch-aware , so leftover cards under a subtag create a Leftover deck at that subtag level. This avoids confusion with AnKing's existing #Other tag hierarchy. Important behavior: Cards remain in their original decks ; filtered decks never move cards. Scheduling, learning steps, intervals, and review history are preserved. Suspended cards remain suspended unless you manually unsuspend them. Filtered deck rescheduling behavior is kept disabled/unchanged. A card can only exist in one filtered deck at a time , following Anki's filtered deck behavior. If a card already exists in another filtered deck, simply empty that filtered deck before rebuilding another. Canceling a long action stops future steps/decks but does not undo decks that were already created, rebuilt, or emptied. Why this is useful: Perfect for studying with AnKing Step 1 & Step 2 , Sketchy , Pathoma , Boards & Beyond , or any large tagged deck. Organize your studying by topic without moving cards from their original decks. I created this because I was tired of manually creating and rebuilding hundreds of filtered decks. This add-on lets you generate, organize, rebuild, pin, and manage them automatically in a true hierarchical structure.
