Description

A small Anki add-on for macOS that helps prevent Bluetooth headphones from cutting off the beginning or end of short audio clips. Some Bluetooth headphones put their audio connection to sleep between sounds. This add-on keeps it active by playing a continuous, extremely quiet 20 Hz tone (approximately βˆ’90 dBFS) through a separate player. Starts automatically when Anki plays audio. Stops two minutes after the last recording finishes. Resets the countdown whenever another recording plays. Stays active throughout longer recordings. Can be enabled or disabled from the Tools menu. Does not modify your cards or audio files. The background tone loops continuously with gapless playback enabled. It uses the mpv player bundled with Anki, so no separate player installation is required. Limitations: The first clip after an idle period may still be cut off while the headphones wake up. Effectiveness depends on your headphones, and keeping the audio connection active may increase battery usage. Intended for modern Anki versions on macOS; compatibility across versions and headphone models has not been fully tested.
