Adds a customizable liquid-glass text background with animated resizing for smooth transitions, blur/saturation controls, optional smart dark text, and adjustable speed, bounciness, and max width.
Visualizes Anki study history with interactive volume, retention, and speed heatmaps, trend graphs, journal notes, exam flags, and customizable Liquid Glass styling.
Replaces Anki's deck, overview and review screens with a themed dashboard featuring stats, heatmap, Pomodoro, habits, study modes, card previews and drag-and-drop deck nesting.
Adjusts font size independently per view in Anki 26.08+, including UI, deck browser, card content, and editor, via pixel values in its config.
Customizes Anki review cards with 40 switchable themes, 89 styles, 62 fonts, GPU transitions, live toolbar, keyword highlighter and optional note types.
Makes Anki's main window background transparent with adjustable, saved transparency while keeping buttons and text opaque; best on macOS, lightly tested on Linux.
Native macOS Liquid Glass for Anki. AnkiGlass
gives Anki's main window a real AppKit NSGlassEffectView β the macOS 26
"Tahoe" glass material β behind the deck list, deck overview, and reviewer,
with frosted toolbar and bottom-bar controls and a theme-aware tint.
macOS only. Best on macOS 26 (Tahoe) for true Liquid Glass; older macOS gets a vibrancy (frosted) fallback. On Windows and Linux the add-on does nothing.

./build.sh and double-click dist/anki-glass.ankiaddon,
or in Anki use Tools β Add-ons β Install from file.Restart Anki after installing.
Tools β Add-ons β AnkiGlass β Config. See src/config.md for
each option. In short: choose which screens get glass, whether the card area
itself is glass, and the tint colour for light and dark mode. A runtime toggle
lives under Tools β AnkiGlass.
Anki's UI is Qt/Chromium web views, not native AppKit controls, so AnkiGlass does not replace the widget engine. Instead it:
NSWindow transparent and requests an alpha surface format so
Chromium clears its transparent regions cleanly (no ghosting).NSGlassEffectView in a borderless child window pinned behind
the main window. The main window is never re-parented, so Qt keeps ownership
of its own view and mouse hover (e.g. AMBOSS pop-ups) keeps working. It talks to the Objective-C runtime through ctypes (see objc_bridge.py) β
the same technique Anki itself uses for its bundled macOS helper β because Anki
does not ship PyObjC.
