Description

In the browser, if notes are searched for by entering a series of NID numbers, this add on enables for the order of these notes to be displayed based on the order of the NIDs entered in the search bar. Main Idea When studying for medical board exams if a list of NIDs are given in order of relevance, it is nice to have them sorted based on the order of the NIDs searched Example of required search format: nid:1584487883351,1557082425404,1575676201875,1535932222867,1557621152346,1589641007418,1580787328620,1536669194675,1557145846525,1511233498118 Spacing is forgiving. All of these are treated the same way: nid:1584487883351, 1557082425404, 1575676201875 (spaces after the commas) nid: 1584487883351,1557082425404 (space after the colon) nid:1584487883351,1557082425404, (trailing comma) NID:1584487883351,1557082425404 (any capitalisation) Example of search format currently NOT supported nid:1584487883351 OR nid:1557082425404 OR NID:1575676201875 Any search that is not purely a list of NIDs is handed to Anki's normal search untouched and behaves exactly as it always has. That includes combined searches such as nid:1584487883351 added:1 , -nid:1584487883351 , or an NID list combined with a deck or tag filter. Notes and Cards Notes mode shows one row per note, in the order you listed them. Cards mode shows every card belonging to each note, so a note with three clozes contributes three rows. Cards are grouped by note in the order you listed, and appear in template order within each note. Toggling between Cards and Notes keeps the ordering. Other behaviour NIDs that are no longer in your collection are skipped, rather than appearing as greyed out "(deleted)" rows. A repeated NID is shown once, at the position it first appears. While an ordered NID search is active, clicking a column header will not re-sort the list, because the add-on is supplying the order. Running any other search restores normal sorting. Changes in this version Fixed: pasting a list that had spaces after the commas silently did nothing. The notes came back in the default order instead of the order entered, with no indication that anything had gone wrong. Lists copied out of a spreadsheet or a script now work as typed. A space after the colon, a trailing comma, and mixed capitalisation are also accepted now. NIDs that are not in the collection are skipped instead of producing greyed out "(deleted)" rows. A repeated NID no longer produces a duplicate row. Long lists are looked up more efficiently.
