Description

FlashcardFriend lets you chat with Claude about the card you're studying — without leaving review. An "Ask Claude" box appears below every card, with quick buttons (Explain / Why? / Example / Pitfalls). Type a question (or press Ctrl+Shift+A) and the card's contents are automatically included in the prompt. Claude's answer appears right below the card. Network calls run in the background so Anki never freezes. SETUP: You need your own Anthropic API key from console.anthropic.com (pay-as-you-go; a few questions cost a fraction of a cent). After installing, open Tools > Add-ons > FlashcardFriend > Config and paste your key. Choose any model (claude-sonnet-4-6, claude-opus-4-8, claude-haiku-4-5). PRIVACY: When you ask a question, the current card's field contents and your question are sent to Anthropic's API. Nothing is sent unless you click Ask. Your API key is stored locally in the add-on config and is never shared.
