StudyCircle (by Ankicraft)

Studying alone is the easiest way to quit. StudyCircle puts your daily reviews on a live leaderboard, next to your friends and everyone else who installs it — so on the day you don't feel like sitting down, you can see the rest of the circle still moving. 🔥 StudyCircle gives Anki the company it's missing. Features 🏆 Five leaderboards in one window: global, your friends, your groups, your country and your league — sort by cards, time studied, streak or accuracy. 🎖️ 50 medals across 11 families (streaks, volume, hours, consistency, accuracy…), shown in your own trophy gallery, with a pop-up the moment you earn a new one. 🥇 Divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Legend, with a bar telling you exactly how many cards are left to move up. 👤 Click anyone to open their card: their numbers, their bio and a one-year heatmap of everything they studied. 👥 Study groups: create one for your exam, your course or your language («MIR 2027», «Japanese N3»), make it public or password-protected, and get a leaderboard with only those people. You can be in up to three. 🌍 A flag and a one-line bio next to your nickname, plus a live count of how many people are studying today. 🔒 Private by design: nothing is sent until you say yes on first run. Your decks, your cards and what you study never leave your computer — only the counters you can see on screen. One button deletes you from the server for good. ⚙️ Nothing to configure: no account, no email, no password. Install it and your permanent friend code is created for you, and it travels with your normal Anki sync. How to use Install, restart Anki, and answer the welcome question ("do you want to take part?"). Open Tools → StudyCircle and set your nickname and country in Options. Study as usual — your numbers are published on their own when you finish a session or sync. Share your friend code (the button copies it) to add each other to the friends tab. Open the "My groups" tab to join a group for what you are studying, or create your own. Settings Tools → Add-ons → StudyCircle → Config: nickname, country, bio, whether you take part in the leaderboard, the streak reminder, the list of people you blocked, and a button to erase your profile from the server. Compatibility Built and tested on Anki 25.09 (Qt6) on Windows; it uses no platform-specific code, so it should behave the same on macOS and Linux — reports from those systems are very welcome. The interface follows Anki's own language: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese are translated so far, and any other language falls back to English. More are on the way; if yours is missing and you would like to help, leave a comment. CHANGELOG v3.3.0 — 2026-07-15 — Added AnkiCraft branding, welcome dialog, and support footer in the config dialog. save_config() now preserves internal meta keys. v3.2.0 — Previous release. Free forever, and open source (AGPLv3). If this add-on saves you time, you can support its development: 👍 Enjoying it? Rate this add-on — it takes 10 seconds and it's the best way to help more people find it. 🐛 Found a bug? Please don't use reviews for bug reports — leave a comment on this page instead, and I'll fix it.
