🏙️ Scapedia companion add-on - Build a city as you study

What is Scapedia? Scapedia is a city-building layer for your Anki study sessions. It is a standalone mobile app that users will be able to download for free from the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store. You contribute to building a living city that grows and evolves based on your learning progress on Anki. Every Anki review earns coins in Scapedia. Good and Easy reviews also attract residents to your city. As your coins and residents grow, your city expands and unlocks new possibilities for customisation. To complement your Anki review sessions, you can also start trackable focus sessions within the app. Completing focus sessions earns you building unlocks. You can also block distracting apps on iOS during your focus sessions. The primary goal is not to keep someone away from using their phone, it is to divert their phone screen time into engaging with something productive (Anki ☺). What does this companion add-on do? The add-on connects your Anki desktop decks to the Scapedia mobile app, enabling progress made in Anki to automatically convert to progress in Scapedia. ⚙️ How to use 1. Link your app On the Scapedia mobile app: Tap “Link Apps” Select “Anki” Find your pairing code (below) 2. Generate pairing code (Anki Desktop) In Anki: Go to Tools → Generate Pairing Codes for Scapedia You can either: Scan the QR code Enter pairing code manually 3. Sync a deck After pairing: Go to Tools → Sync Selected Deck to Scapedia Select a deck to sync Once complete, your app will automatically receive updates (This is a one-time operation) 🔄 What data is synced This add-on does NOT transmit the contents of your flashcards. It sends study metadata, including: Deck ID (internal Anki identifier only) Deck names Number of reviews per card Correct vs incorrect review counts Last review ease score Whether a card was recently learned or lapsed Timestamps of review activity (for sync calculation only) 🚫 What is NOT collected Card front or back content Notes text Images, audio, or media Any personal or sensitive information inside cards 🔒 Privacy & Safety Only study performance metadata is transmitted Card contents never leave your device Data is used solely for analytics and syncing functionality No advertising, tracking, or external data sharing ❓ FAQ Can I sync multiple Anki profiles? Only one profile can be linked to one Scapedia profile at a time. Can I sync multiple Anki decks? Yes - all decks within the connected profile are synced. Is this safe? Yes. Only review metadata is transmitted, not card content. Does it work offline? No, syncing requires an internet connection. What happens if I stop using it? You can unlink at any time by re-running pairing. No further data will be sent.To unlink, simply re-attempt pairing by choosing Tools → Generate Pairing Codes for Scapedia . When the window opens, no further action is needed. How often does data get synced? Every few minutes. Syncing is incremental - only recently reviewed cards are sent. I just completed some Anki reviews, but I didn't receive any coins or residents on Scapedia! Scapedia checks for updates when you load up the app, or once you complete a focus session, or manually through Link Apps → Anki → Sync Now . How many coins and residents do I earn? Each Anki review earns 1 coin.
