When a card becomes a leech during review, Anki normally shows a small message saying: This card is a leech. This add-on expands that moment into a simple diagnosis prompt. Before continuing, you choose the reason the card became difficult: This card is too hard This card is too long This card doesn't make sense Other After you choose a reason, the card is tagged with a more useful leech category. Tags Added Instead of only using the default Anki leech tag, the add-on applies one of these hierarchical tags: Leech::Too_hard Leech::Too_long Leech::Doesnt_make_sense Leech::Other This makes it much easier to find and fix your problem cards later. Why Use This? Not all leeches fail for the same reason. Some cards are too detailed. Some are unclear. Some are testing too much at once. Some simply need to be rewritten. Leech Diagnosis helps you separate those cases so you can improve your deck more intentionally. How It Works Review cards normally. When a card becomes a leech, a diagnosis prompt appears. Choose the reason the card became a leech. The add-on replaces the generic leech tag with a more specific tag. Later, browse your cards by leech diagnosis and fix them in groups. Example If a card becomes a leech because it is too long, choose: This card is too long The card will be tagged as: Leech::Too_long You can then search for that tag in Anki and shorten those cards later. Notes The prompt stays open until you choose one of the four options. The add-on is designed to work during normal review.
