Description

Anki Batch Link & Highlight Add-on This Anki add-on based on the miningsimple-note provides powerful utilities to automatically cross-link related cards and synchronize text highlights across them. It is particularly useful for vocabulary/sentence mining, allowing you to easily connect multiple cards that share the same context sentence, or manually group a batch of selected cards. ✨ Features & Modes When you select multiple cards in the Anki Browser Edit -> Batch: Link_Highlight and trigger the add-on, you will be prompted to choose between two processing modes: Mode 1: Sentence Match Link (Smart Linking) This mode groups all selected cards automatically based on identical content in the GROUP_CRITERION_FIELD (e.g., cards that share the exact same example sentence). Linking: For every group of cards that share the same sentence, a [Sentence Link]: string is generated containing links to all cards in that group. This string is added to the TARGET_FIELD_LINK of each card in the group. Highlight Synchronization: The add-on scans the FIELDS_TO_PROCESS of all grouped cards to find bolded target words ( <b>word</b> ). It then combines these targets and ensures that all target words from the entire group are highlighted (underlined) across every card in that group. Mode 2: Batch Link (Manual Linking) This mode ignores sentences entirely. It simply takes all currently selected cards and links them together into one large cluster. A [Batch Link]: string is generated containing references to every selected card. This string is injected into the TARGET_FIELD_LINK of all selected cards. Note: No text highlighting is performed in this mode. πŸš€ How to Use Open the Anki Browser . Select multiple cards you want to process. In the top menu bar, click on Edit -> Batch: Link & Highlight (or use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+L ). A prompt will appear asking you to select either "1) sentence match link" or "2) batch link" . Click OK to execute. A tooltip will appear at the bottom confirming how many links and highlights were created. ↩️ The Undo Feature If you made a mistake or want to unlink a group of cards, the add-on includes a dedicated Undo function that safely removes only the links and highlights generated by this tool. Select the affected cards in the Anki Browser. Click on Edit -> Batch: UNDO Link & Highlight (or use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+U ). The add-on will find the exact [Sentence Link] or [Batch Link] string for that group and remove it from the target field. It will also strip the added <u> tags from the processed sentence fields, restoring them to their previous state.
