QuickCloze

QuickCloze QuickCloze is a small Anki workspace for making cloze cards without constantly opening the normal Add window. The idea is simple: write your notes while studying, mark the parts you want to hide, preview them, then create the cards in one batch. Basic workflow Write notes in the QuickCloze window. Mark important words with simple cloze syntax. Preview the cards. Click Create when you are ready. Example: The [mitochondria] produces ATP. becomes: The {{c1::mitochondria}} produces ATP. You can also write hints: The [substantia nigra | dopamine source] degenerates in Parkinson disease. and grouped clozes: The 1[renal artery] and 1[renal vein] enter the kidney at the 2[hilum]. Extra field Use Extra when you want a comment, explanation, source, or clinical note on the back of the card. The [median nerve] passes through the carpal tunnel. !Extra: Compression can cause paresthesia in the lateral 3.5 digits. Tags and decks You can route cards while writing: @deck[Step 1::Renal] tags: Step1::Renal AcidBase The [proximal tubule] reabsorbs most filtered bicarbonate. Nested decks and nested tags are supported. Formatting QuickCloze supports simple color wrappers: r[red text] b[blue text] g[green text] You can combine formatting with clozes: r[**[Hyperkalemia]**] can cause [peaked T waves]. Math, images, and code MathJax works: Cardiac output is [$CO = HR \times SV$ | formula]. Images can be inserted from Anki media: @image_name.png|300|center Code blocks are protected, so tags, clozes, and Extra syntax inside code are not accidentally parsed. Tables Markdown tables are supported: @table[Shock comparison] | Finding | Septic shock | Cardiogenic shock | |---|---|---| | Skin | warm early | cool / clammy | | JVP | variable | elevated | @endtable You can also add small notes to table cells: | JVP | variable | elevated^{Elevated JVP supports pump failure.} | The cell gets a small reference number, and the note is placed in the Extra field. Manual layouts are possible, but dense algorithms can become hard to read. AI bridge The AI button copies a prompt that can be pasted into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. It asks the model to format rough notes into QuickCloze syntax. This is meant as a formatting helper, not a replacement for checking the card yourself. Notes QuickCloze works best as a drafting tool. It is fast for normal cloze batches, tables, tags, decks, and Extra notes. Very large batches, huge tables, and dense algorithms can be heavy. For big imports, test in a temporary deck first.
