We knew Anki worked. Spaced repetition transformed the way we learn, think and remember. Yet opening Anki still felt like a fight. We had found a tool that could change our lives, and we had to convince ourselves to use it every day. My parents never had the chance to receive an education. We believe, deeply, that education is the most powerful force we have to change a life. What we learn shapes what becomes possible for us. We want to make learning accessible, desirable and irresistible for as many people as possible. So we kept asking ourselves: if a game can make us eager to return tomorrow, could we bring that feeling to learning? We built Cristal Memoria to find out. I once tried another Anki game and caught myself pressing buttons without reading the cards. I uninstalled it. That experience stayed with me. The feeling we wanted to create was wanting to do your cards, because learning moves your world forward. For me, it clicked. I went from roughly 50 to 200 daily reviews. I wanted to open Anki and move forward. That is my own experience, and the feeling we hope you will discover too. About Our Tools When we started building this, we had the whole thing mapped out : the city, the buildings, the visual progression. We knew exactly what we wanted it to feel like. We're a small unfunded, voluntarily team. We had the vision mapped out but not the budget to produce it, so we had a choice: wait forever or ship with the tools we have. We chose to ship. Some assets were enhanced with AI. Every one was chosen, directed, and iterated by us. But honestly, this idea that AI is binary, you use it or you don't, isn't real anymore. It's baked into Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, your code editor. Very most of creators are already using it whether they realize it or not. From the Cristal Memoria community. The add-on we wished we had as students. Version one alone took eleven months. Iterations, arguments and entire versions thrown away. We kept building the add-on we had searched for as students, reviewing at 3 a.m. and wishing we wanted to come back.
