Description

The local helper for the AnkiMaxer browser extension. AnkiMaxer (a Chrome/Safari extension) lets you mark questions you miss on UWorld and Bootcamp and send the matching AnKing cards into a per-exam review deck. This add-on is the part that runs inside Anki: it looks up cards, tags and unsuspends them, and builds/rebuilds the filtered "Incorrects" and "Marked" decks. It runs a small local server on 127.0.0.1 (the first free port from 8766-8770) that only the AnkiMaxer extension on the same computer talks to. Nothing leaves your machine β€” no accounts, no analytics, no external servers. Setup Install this add-on and restart Anki. Install the AnkiMaxer browser extension (Chrome Web Store / Safari). Chrome Extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ankimaxer/kkjnbnegfmbembnphgnbmjlhdefoapen Safari Extension: (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ankimaxer/id6783575841?mt=12) Keep Anki open while you study; click the AnkiMaxer toolbar button on a UWorld or Bootcamp question. Settings (Tools -> Add-ons -> AnkiMaxer -> Config) Marking always unsuspends the matching cards. What happens to a card you have already studied - one that is in review with a future due date - is up to you: "onMark": "due_today" (default) - pull it forward so it is due today. Its interval and ease are kept, so you do not lose scheduling history. "onMark": "keep" - leave its schedule completely untouched. It is tagged and belongs to the deck, but it will not appear until its normal due date. "onMark": "copy" - leave the original untouched and add a fresh duplicate note, with no scheduling history, to AnkiMaxer::Copies - so you relearn it from zero while the original keeps its interval. Only cards parked further out than copyIfDueBeyondDays (default 7) are copied: a card you have never studied is already new, and a card due soon will come around on its own. Copies are real notes, so they sync and will look like duplicates of the originals; every one is tagged AnkiMaxer::copy::<source note id> , so tag:AnkiMaxer::copy::* finds them all if you want them gone. deckLimit (default 9999) sets how many cards the Incorrects/Marked decks may gather. Filtered decks have their own limit, separate from your deck preset's new/review limits - earlier versions hardcoded it to 200, which capped your day no matter what the preset said. If one of your decks is still stuck at 200, the next card you mark fixes it; a limit you set yourself in Anki's filtered-deck options is left alone. Works with current Anki (2.1.x and later).
