Make your review buttons yours. Button Colors lets you customize Anki’s Again, Hard, Good, Easy, and Show Answer buttons with presets and separate light/dark palettes. Settings screenshot from the development build, previously named Button Colors Plus. Based on Button Colours This add-on is based on the idea behind the now-outdated Button Colours (Good, Again) add-on by teaqu. Credit to the original author for the inspiration. This is an independent implementation with expanded customization; it is not an official update from the original author. Features Five built-in presets: Classic, Ocean, Pastel, Colorblind friendly, and Monochrome. Save, load, and delete your own named presets. Separate light and dark colors for each review button. Filled, outline, and text-only styles. Adjustable corner radius, padding, width, font size, border thickness, and bold labels. White, black, or automatic-contrast text on filled buttons. Intervals follow Anki’s theme by default, or optionally follow your palette colors. Optional Show Answer styling. Live preview with a light/dark toggle. A highlighted Load button when the selected preset differs from your settings. How to use Install the add-on and restart Anki. Open Tools → Button Colors… , or select the add-on and click Config . Choose a preset and click Load , or customize the appearance and colors. Click Save to apply. Cancel discards the editing session. Disable the original Button Colours add-on and other add-ons that restyle the same buttons to avoid conflicting styles. Compatibility Designed for Anki Desktop 26.09.2 . Integration was checked against that release’s source; a full live review on 26.09.2 has not yet been verified. Desktop add-ons do not run in AnkiMobile, AnkiDroid, or AnkiWeb. This add-on changes appearance only. Anki’s scheduling, answer actions, labels, and keyboard shortcuts remain intact. Settings are local to your Anki installation and do not sync through AnkiWeb. Automatic text contrast chooses black or white for readability. Fixed white/black and outline/text styles may need color adjustments with pale or dark palettes. Other add-ons that replace the review toolbar may be incompatible.
