Description

Anki Cross-Linker (Link All Selected Together) ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: This add-on is specifically designed to work with cards of the grammar note type. This Anki add-on allows you to quickly create reciprocal link connections between multiple grammar cards. By selecting a group of cards in the Anki Browser, the add-on will automatically cross-link all of them together. Every selected card will receive links to every other selected card directly in a designated field. ✨ Features Complete Cross-Linking: Select any number of cards (at least two). The add-on will automatically write the links of all other selected cards into each individual card's target field. There is no "Master Card" anymoreβ€”all selected cards are treated equally. Safe Appending (No Overwriting): Your existing data is safe. If the target field already contains text or previous links, the add-on will preserve your old content, add a double line break, and safely append the new links at the bottom. Automatic Timestamping: Every connection block includes a precise timestamp ( YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM ) indicating exactly when the link group was created. Custom Link Formatting: Generates clean, structured link references in the format [Label|nidNoteID] using a designated source field. The nid ensures exact matching for other Anki add-ons. Keyboard Shortcut: Trigger the entire linking process instantly with Ctrl + Alt + M . Exception Mapping: Built-in dictionary support to handle exceptions or text adjustments for specific short terms that might otherwise fail during linking. βš™οΈ Configuration The add-on can be customized directly in the source code using the following variables. Note that these fields must exist on your grammar note type: TARGET_FIELD : The field where the generated links will be saved/appended. (Default: "Connected Grammar Points from jlptsensei (optional)" ) SOURCE_LABEL_FIELD : The field from which the text label for the link is fetched. (Default: "Level And Grammar Point" ) πŸš€ How to Use Open the Anki Browser ( Browse from the main window). Ensure you are looking at cards of the grammar note type. Select at least two cards that you want to link together. You can select multiple cards by holding Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) while clicking them. Trigger the linker using one of two methods: Press the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + M Go to the top menu bar and click on Edit > Cross-Linker (Link All Selected Together) . The add-on will process the notes in the background. It reads the labels, creates the cross-links, and appends them to the target field of every selected card. A tooltip notification will appear confirming the successful connection (e.g., "Success! 3 cards cross-linked with each other (Appended)." ). If a card is missing the required fields, a detailed error dialog will pop up to let you know exactly which note was skipped.
