The add-on starts a small local bridge inside Anki and shows the IP address, port, and 6-digit pairing code needed to connect the AnkiWatch Apple Watch app. What it does: Shows answers from your Apple Watch Grades cards as Again, Hard, Good, or Easy Supports undo, bury card, and suspend card Displays the current review state to the Watch Pairs using a temporary 6-digit code Runs locally over your Wi-Fi network Tapd/AnkiWatch is designed to be local-first. There is no cloud account, hosted backend, analytics, ads, or paid API dependency. The Watch talks directly to this Anki add-on on your computer over your local network. After pairing, commands require a bearer token stored in Anki’s add-on config and on the Watch. Requirements: Anki Desktop Apple Watch with the Tapd/AnkiWatch app installed Anki and Apple Watch on the same Wi-Fi network A running Anki review session before sending review commands Setup: Install the add-on and restart Anki. Open Tools -> Tapd/AnkiWatch Watch Controller. Start reviewing a deck in Anki. Open Tapd/AnkiWatch on Apple Watch. Enter the IP address, port, and pairing code shown in Anki. Choose a controller mode and review from your wrist. If pairing fails, make sure Anki and Apple Watch are on the same Wi-Fi network, use the local IP shown by the add-on, allow incoming connections if macOS asks, and regenerate the pairing code if it has expired. Note: The Tapd/AnkiWatch WatchOS App is paid. This is not to earn a profit, but to try and recoup development costs. Your support is greatly appreciated.
