Description

Anki Grammar-Miner & Linker Add-on An automated solution for importing bulk-mined individual sentence cards into Anki, suspending redundant card layouts, and building robust, bi-directional link relationships between your grammar study notes and individual vocabulary/sentence mining cards. πŸ› οΈ Requirements & Setup Before running the import workflow, ensure your Anki database has the exact structure matching the hardcoded values used in the add-on: Target Deck: You must have a deck named exactly mining . Note Type for Individual Cards: You must have a note type named exactly miningsimple . It should contain the fields you want to import, including at least a Word field and a Frequency field. Grammar Note Fields: Your existing grammar notes must belong to a note type that contains the following fields: mined sentences Level And Grammar Point ✨ Features & Workflow Steps When triggered, the add-on coordinates a 4-step pipeline: 1. Dynamic Individual Card Creation The add-on reads your selected Individual Cards TSV file. It automatically maps the column headers directly to your Anki field names. It generates new notes inside the mining deck, automatically applies the tag grammar to them, and tracks their newly created Anki Note IDs ( nid ). 2. Automatic Pronunciation Suspension To prevent card clutter, the script checks each newly created card template. If a template name contains the word "pronounciation" (case-insensitive), that card layout is immediately suspended (set to queue -1 ), meaning you will not be prompted to review it until manually unsuspended. 3. Sentence Injecting & Cross-Linking The script parses the Grammar Updates TSV file. It matches the sentences to your existing grammar cards via their static Anki note ID. If a sentence references a placeholder bracket containing an external ID code (e.g. [ID-CODE] ), it replaces it with a dynamic reference pointing directly to the newly created card layout: [Sentence Text|nid1234567890] . New sentences are always prepended (injected at the very top) of your existing mined sentences field. 4. Bi-directional Backlinking While updating the grammar note, the add-on goes back to the newly created card layout and appends a link pointing back to the grammar point inside its Frequency field using HTML breaks ( <br> ). This establishes a completely circular cross-reference system. πŸš€ How to Use Prepare your two source files as Tab-Separated Values ( .tsv ): Individual Cards File: Must contain a column header named "Note ID" , along with fields like "Word" . Grammar Updates File: A two-column file where column 1 is the existing Anki Note ID ( nid ) of your grammar note, and column 2 contains the lines of sentences separated by <br> . Open Anki. In the main top menu bar, click on Grammar-Miner -> Grammar Mining Hub Import . A file dialogue will prompt you to select your Individual Cards file ( anki_individual_cards.tsv ). A second file dialogue will prompt you to select your Grammar Updates file ( anki_grammar_updates.tsv ). The progress bar will display, and once completed, a success dialog box will appear. Your database is now successfully synchronized, linked, and clean!
