About the Add-on This add-on was developed to automate and streamline the creation of French flashcards in Anki. Inspired by the excellent work of Shigeඞ , it acts as an intelligent assistant: simply type a word or sentence into the main field, and the remaining fields will be filled automatically. This greatly reduces the time required to create flashcards, allowing you to focus on learning instead of data entry. Data Sources The add-on relies on structured lexical databases to provide accurate and reliable information. French Open lexical database from Kaikki , derived from Wiktionary. Note Types The first time you launch Anki after installing the add-on, two custom note types will be created automatically: French - auto Designed for vocabulary study, including fields such as: translation; part of speech; grammatical gender; plural form (when applicable); pronunciation; and other lexical information. French Sentences - auto Designed for studying complete sentences and example usages. Main Features Automatic completion of translations and grammatical information. Integrated offline dictionary for fast lookups without requiring an internet connection for most entries. Automatic detection of grammatical gender , when available. Plural information , whenever available. High-quality Text-to-Speech (TTS) audio generation using Google Text-to-Speech. Automatic translation fallback when a word is not available in the local dictionary. Recommendations For an even smoother card creation workflow, it is recommended to use this add-on together with a field and tag cleanup extension, such as mine .
